Created by students, run by students, enjoyed by students.
Societies are groups of like-interested souls coming together: whether it be music, Mexico, magic, acting, amnesty or art, there are societies that cover pretty much anything anyone’s interested in, and if there’s one missing, it’s easy enough to start your own.
Different societies do different things and run in different ways. Some are focused on one big project per year, others have regular meetings, some organise activities that anyone can come to, others focus on organising things for their members, some societies are quite small, others are huge.
All societies are open to anyone and most accept new members throughout the year so take a look at what is on offer. Make sure you keep an eye on the list of societies as new ones start up quite regularly.
The focal point for societies on campus is the Activities Centre, Falmer House, where as well as societies you can find staff and resources for societies, sport and volunteering. To find out more, call in to the Activities Centre (1st floor, Falmer House), email us - societies@ussu.sussex.ac.uk - or give us a call - 01273 877641.
