CUSTOMER SERVICES ASSISTANT - East Slope Bar, Falmer Bar, Union Shop, Union Store
We are looking for new motivated people to work in the Union Bars and Retail; staff who will deliver a quality customer service in order for us to achieve our vision of being THE student choice at Sussex.
The hours are designed to be flexible enough to fit around studies, HOWEVER, because of this flexibility we need to cover hours for staff who have taken time off to complete their exams. This means you must be available for an immediate start and be able to take on regular hours over the Summer Term .
In return you will earn £6.42/hr (including a provision for holiday pay), and of course will be able to apply for exam leave in subsequent years

JOB DESCRIPTION
Deliver a quality customer service, by:
- Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Being well presented, portraying a positive image of the Union
- Carrying out financial transactions accurately and securely, ensuring legislation is adhered to
- Dealing effectively with all people, showing commitment to equal opportunities and Union values
Maintain a professional environment, by:
- Merchandising goods by presenting them attractively and rotating them as and when required
- Maintaining the area so it is clean and safe for customers, staff, and visitors at all times
- Working safely, complying with all relevant Health & Safety standards
- Complying with all Company and Union policies and procedures
Be an effective part of the team, by:
- Being flexible, reliable, and supportive of your team
- Showing polite consideration towards all people at all times
- Working variable shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends as required
- Advising your relevant supervisor/manager promptly of any issues or problem encountered
- Assisting in the general operations of the business, as directed by your line manager
